The legendary Old Karuizawa Whisky was once sold for 300,000 pounds per bottle. The New Karuizawa Whisky has inherited its spirit and DNA and has been reborn at the foot of Mount Asama .

Now , a new legend begins.
In 2015, a bottle of the legendary Karuizawa Whisky was sold at auction in the UK for £300,000.
After closing in 2011, a new challenge began in 2022 to bring this legend back to the world.
The reason for this legend lies in its special history.
Karuizawa Distillery, founded in 1953, was the third full-scale distillery to be built in Japan.
The extremely difficult production method of aging the malt entirely in sherry casks thrilled the hearts of enthusiasts at the time.
This history is the DNA of the legend. -
The legacy lives on .
The legend lies in the recipe passed down by Uchibori Shusei, who served as factory manager at Old Karuizawa for around 50 years, and his last apprentice, Nakazato Yoshiyuki.
"Aging it in sherry casks for over 10 years, without that courage, there would be no revival," Uchibori said.
Nakazato continues to preserve the legendary recipe today, carrying on the spirit of Uchibori, who passed away in 2023.
Another key figure is Totsuka Shigeru, president of the new distillery.
He is also the 16th generation head of this long-established brewery, which has been in business for 370 years.
Carrying on the shock he felt in his youth, he rebuilt Karuizawa Whisky so that people around the world could experience the same excitement he felt in the past. -
The Pride of New Karuizawa.
The rebuilt Karuizawa Distillery is lined with custom-made stills manufactured by Forsyth, known as the Rolls Royce of distillers.
The carefully distilled raw spirits are all aged for over 10 years in sherry casks, following Uchibori's recipe.
The whisky is sold to customers in barrels, and is not intended for immediate consumption, following the rule that it must be aged for over 10 years before it can be shipped .
It will take 10 years from the time you decide to purchase for the whisky to finally reach you.

Owner's Cask is a system where you can purchase whiskey produced by our company in units of casks (barrels).

The Promise of 10 Years
Karuizawa Whisky is not sold as new pot.
The aging process of whiskey malt liquor in sherry casks is slow and takes a long time, and 10 years of storage is optimal for its mellow aroma and deep flavor.
Karuizawa Whisky is carefully aged and stored at our company for a period of 10 years, before being bottled and delivered to you.
After 10 years of storage, you can assess the progress of aging and decide when to bottle it.
While many whiskeys are usually shipped after 3 to 5 years, we have set a quality standard of "10 years" that we cannot compromise on. -
Your Legacy
Purchasing an Owner's Cask is not just consumption.
It is the acquisition of "ownership" as you watch your own cask breathe through the four seasons of Karuizawa and watch it deepen into an amber color.

The Sanctuary
In the spring of 2027, a special space will be created within the distillery that only owners will be allowed to enter.
Visitors will be able to check the maturation of their own barrels, and sip a glass with family and friends while being enveloped in the aroma of the barrels.
This will be a blissful moment that only owners are allowed to experience. -
The Journey
There's plenty to enjoy while you wait 10 years for the whisky to be completed.
You can enjoy the aging process at home with sampling bottles delivered periodically, or you can sample from your own barrel at the owner's bar.
Even the "time to wait" will be transformed into a rich and luxurious experience. -
The Connection
The club regularly holds special events in Tokyo and Karuizawa.
Members with similar values gather together to chat over a glass of whiskey.

First, register as a free community member and start subscribing to our email newsletter.
We will send you the latest information on our brand and events. -
Step 2
Ambassador
Anyone who meets any of the following conditions will be certified as an "Ambassador".
- Participate in designated events announced in the email newsletter
- Approval through individual review
- Introduction by the owner
- Referrals from Certified Agents
Ambassadors will have the right to purchase rare products such as limited edition bottles, as well as the right to purchase tickets to club member events in which ambassadors can participate.
